This privacy policy explains how the Simple Screen Translator app ("the app") built by Wise Digital Inc. handles your data. The app extracts text from images and translates it using on-device machine-learning models. There is no app account, no cloud sync, and no Wise Digital server that receives your images, recognized text, or translation history.
Wise Digital does not operate a server that receives your images, recognized text, translation history, saved phrases, language preferences, theme, or tutorial/tooltip flags. All of this data is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by you from the app's settings or by uninstalling the app.
Specifically, the following are stored on your device only:
The app needs photo library, camera, or file access only when you choose images or documents for translation, or when you use the iOS Share Extension to send an image into the app. Your photos and files are not uploaded to any server we control, and we do not store, view, or share them.
Text recognition is performed by Google ML Kit on your device. Translation is performed by Google's on-device Translate models (downloaded by ML Kit on first use of a language pair). The image, the recognized text, and the translation stay on your device for the core translation flow — they are not sent to OpenAI or to any server Wise Digital controls. Google may contact its own servers to download on-device model files the first time a language is used.
The free version of the app shows ads through Google AdMob (banner and interstitial). We request non-personalized ads where supported and do not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt in the app. Google may still process data such as device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and advertising data for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency capping, reporting, and compliance. Premium subscribers do not see ads. Wise Digital does not use this data to build its own user profiles. You can read Google AdMob's privacy policy for more details. The app's AdMob content rating is set to non-explicit (general audiences).
The app offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions that remove ads and unlock Premium features. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and unlock the Premium entitlement. RevenueCat may process purchase history, product identifiers, app user identifiers, subscription events, platform information, and diagnostics. We never see your credit card, billing address, or other payment credentials. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage, cancel, or restore subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings; the app provides a "Restore Purchases" action in Settings.
The app does not include a separate Wise Digital analytics SDK, session recording SDK, or behavioral analytics system. AdMob, ML Kit, and RevenueCat may process limited advertising, model-download, purchase, diagnostic, and device data as described above.
Because translation history, saved phrases, preferences, and tutorial flags live only on your device, you can clear them at any time by using in-app controls or by deleting the app. For questions about purchases or RevenueCat data, contact us so we can help route the request to the appropriate processor.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and Wise Digital does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information through a third-party store, ad, or purchase service, contact us so we can help route the request.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
